Enterprise UX research-as-a-service
Clear the research backlog
without adding headcount
Akraya takes ownership of each study from scoping through delivery, giving your team more research capacity without adding another role to hire, onboard, and manage.
Trusted by Fortune 500 enterprises worldwide
Add support where your team needs it most
Keep control of the research program while Akraya adds the capacity to deliver it
Your team keeps ownership of the research strategy, roadmap, and priorities. You decide what stays in-house and what to hand off. Akraya fills the gaps with the level of support you need, and you can change that mix as priorities shift.

Participant recruiting and ResearchOps
Recruiting, screening, scheduling, and global participant panels.
Flexible engagement models
Choose the delivery model that fits the work
Akraya’s Research-as-a-Service gives you two ways to get research delivered. Use Rapid Research for a specific question that needs a fast answer, or Embedded Research when you need ongoing support inside the team.
Bring us a clear research question. Your UXR lead scopes the study, then an Akraya researcher handles recruiting, fieldwork, analysis, and delivery end to end.
A dedicated researcher or team of researchers join your team, learn your product, user, and backlog, and run research as new questions come up. Akraya’s PMO manages the engagement behind the scenes.
Use both under one managed service. Rapid and Embedded Research run under the same Akraya relationship, with the same PMO and service standards. One team can have embedded coverage while another uses rapid studies when urgent questions come up.

Why teams turn to RaaS
Get more research done without adding permanent headcount
Clear the backlog before studies get dropped
When more product teams need research than your team can run, important studies get delayed or deprioritized. RaaS adds delivery capacity so more of the work actually gets done.
Scale capacity without waiting for a hire
Headcount approval, recruiting, and onboarding can take months. RaaS lets you add support for a launch, a busy quarter, or several teams at once, then scale back when demand drops.
Bring in specialist expertise only when you need it
Some studies need deeper expertise in AI, hardware, wearables, accessibility, quantitative research, or human factors. RaaS gives you access to those specialists without hiring for every capability full time.
Get findings before the decision is made
If research takes longer than the product decision, the findings lose value. RaaS gives you the capacity to complete the study while the team can still use the evidence.
Reach users your team can’t recruit on its own
Some studies need participants in specific regions, industries, or hard-to-reach segments your usual panels don’t cover. RaaS brings the recruiting reach and global delivery to run those studies without building new panels yourself.
Keep your internal researchers focused on strategic work
Hand off validation and repeatable studies so your in-house team can stay focused on discovery, foundational research, and roadmap questions that depend on deep product context.
Why teams choose Akraya
A research partner that owns the work, not just the staffing
Akraya takes responsibility for getting the research done, from resourcing and recruiting through delivery. Your team keeps the product context and priorities; we handle the execution behind them.
Delivery stays with us
You bring the questions and product context. We own the research we commit to delivering, so your team is not left managing another contractor or chasing the work forward.
Continuity across studies
We keep researchers with the same product teams where possible, so context builds over time. The PMO also holds the program history, methodology, and delivery standards, so continuity does not depend on one person.
Recruiting and ResearchOps are already covered
We handle participant recruiting, screening, scheduling, incentives, consent, and coordination, including specialized and global samples. Your team does not have to build the operational layer around every study.
Global research without rebuilding the model
Akraya already supports research across multiple regions and can expand into new markets as needed. That gives you access to broader and harder-to-reach participant groups without standing up a new vendor in every geography.
Capacity that scales with demand
Add research support when the backlog grows and scale it back when demand drops. We handle the resourcing, so you are not carrying idle headcount or restarting procurement every time another team needs help.
Faster analysis, with researchers still making the call
We use AI to speed up heuristic reviews, analysis workflows, and survey processing. Experienced researchers still lead participant sessions, synthesis, and final recommendations, so you gain speed without giving up research judgment.

CDW PMO TeamProcurement, IP & compliance
Built to meet enterprise procurement, security, and compliance requirements
Give procurement a clear engagement to evaluate
Defined deliverables, SLAs, and PMO-backed delivery make the work easy to scope as professional services. Procurement can see what is being delivered, how it is managed, and what the spend covers.
Test unreleased products without exposing your company
Akraya can run research as an independent third party, with no visible connection to your brand. That lets you test pre-launch products and early features without revealing what you are building.
Keep sensitive research inside your environment
When required, research runs inside your tools and data environment, so recordings, findings, and product information stay where your team controls them.
Keep compliance from becoming another process to manage
We handle participant consent, privacy, data handling, and compensation as part of the engagement, so your team does not have to rebuild the operational process for every study.
Comparing your options
Choose the model based on how much research work you want your team to own
If demand is growing, the main difference between these options is who carries the management, delivery, and operational load.
| What you’re weighing | Hire in-house | Staff augmentation | Akraya RaaS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best fit | Long-term research tied closely to product strategy | Extra researcher capacity your team is ready to direct | Growing or uneven demand you want handled end to end |
| Who manages the work | Your team | Your team manages the researcher | Akraya, with PMO-backed delivery and SLAs |
| How fast you can add capacity | Months to hire and onboard | Faster than hiring, but your team still has to ramp the researcher | Add capacity without opening a new role |
| How easily capacity changes | Harder to flex because the cost is permanent | Flexible, but usually added one researcher at a time | Scale support across teams and geographies as demand changes |
| Recruiting and ResearchOps | Your team builds and runs them | Usually still owned by your team | Handled as part of the engagement |
| Who owns quality and continuity | Your team | Your team | Akraya, at the program level |

FAQ
Questions buyers ask before they commit
How is RaaS different from staff augmentation? +
With staff augmentation, a vendor gives you a researcher and your team manages that person, sets priorities, reviews quality, and keeps the work moving. With RaaS, we take responsibility for the research itself and are accountable for the work we agree to deliver. The simplest test: are you buying a researcher for your team to manage, or research the provider is responsible for delivering?
How is RaaS different from hiring in-house? +
An in-house researcher is a permanent hire who builds deep product knowledge over time. RaaS adds research capacity without creating a permanent role, so you can bring in researchers for the work you need, add specialists when a study calls for them, and scale up or down as demand changes. We also handle parts your team would otherwise manage, like recruiting, research operations, and program management. Many teams run both, keeping strategic work in-house and sending volume or specialized studies to us.
What engagement models do you offer? +
Two. An embedded researcher joins your team for 3, 6, or 12 months and builds product knowledge as they go, which fits ongoing and roadmap research. Rapid research handles one scoped study from brief to findings in one to three weeks, which fits usability tests, pre-launch validation, and time-sensitive decisions. Both include the PMO, defined SLAs, and account support in your time zone, and you can use both under one relationship.
How much of our team’s time does this take? +
Less than managing researchers yourself. You bring the product context, the questions, and the access the researcher needs. We handle study design, recruiting, execution, analysis, quality, and delivery, and the PMO coordinates it, so RaaS reduces the coordination load instead of adding another set of contractors for you to run.
How does pricing work? +
We price per engagement, scoped to the work delivered rather than by headcount, so what you pay maps to the research and the decisions it supports. Cost depends on the model and scope: a rapid study is scoped on its own, while an embedded engagement is sized to the length and amount of research your team needs. You can start with one product team and expand from there.
Do you handle participant recruiting? +
Yes. Recruiting is part of the engagement, including screening, scheduling, incentives, consent, and logistics, through established panels and study platforms. We can also recruit specialized, global, or hard-to-reach participants, so recruiting doesn’t become the thing that delays your study.
What happens to continuity and quality if a researcher changes? +
The program context lives with the PMO and the program itself, so it carries across researchers. Methodology, history, and product knowledge are held at the program level, so if a researcher changes, the next one picks that context up and your team keeps moving. The provider stays responsible for maintaining quality across the whole engagement.
Is RaaS only for large enterprises? +
It’s built for enterprise product organizations with growing research demand across multiple teams, which is where it fits best. Smaller teams can use it when they need experienced or specialized research support but don’t have enough steady demand to justify hiring every type of researcher full-time.
How do you handle our data, IP, and confidentiality? +
When required, research runs inside your systems and data environment, and we can operate as an independent third party so unreleased products stay confidential. Data handling, participant privacy, consent, and compensation are managed as part of the engagement, and we can provide the compliance and security materials procurement needs.
